A US Air Assualt Badge - Antique.

This badge is awarded by the US Army for the completion of the Air Assault School. The course includes instruction on rotary wing aircrafts, combat operations, rigging and slingloading, and rapelling from a helicopter. 

The first pattern was only issused to members of the 11th Airborne Division and was not authorised for army-wide wear. This is the second pattern of the badge was first issued in in 1978, and is the more widely recognised and distributed award.

It features a nose-on helicopter with wings extending on either side. This fine reprodcution comes in a nice antique finish.
