The King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) was a line infantry regiment of the British Army. Raised in 1680 for service in the Tangier Garrison, it was known as the 2nd Tangier Regiment. It was renamed the Queen's Regiment of Foot in 1685 when James II took the throne. And then in with the ascension of George I in 1714 it was retitled The King's Own. In 1959, the regiment was amalgamated with the Border Regiment to form the King's Own Royal Border Regiment.
Notable conflicts include the Quebec Expedition, the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, and both World Wars.
