Breast Star of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire – Knight Commander Class

Established in 1878 by Queen Victoria at the proposal of Lord Salisbury, The Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire was created to commemorate her ascension as Empress of India. A prestigious yet junior order to The Most Exalted Order of the Star of India, it was awarded to distinguished individuals until India gained independence in 1947.

This striking breast star, worn by Knights Commander of the Order, features a ten-pointed design with radiant silver rays. At its center, a finely detailed depiction of Queen Victoria is encircled by a dark blue enamel ring inscribed with the Order’s Latin motto. A regal crown sits proudly above, completing the elegant composition of this historic insignia. Though no longer awarded, the Order remains a symbol of imperial heritage and distinguished service.
