The Demjansk Battle Shield was instituted on 25th April, 1943, and was awarded to members of the Army and Waffen S.S. who formed the defensive units of the small Russian town of Demjansk. The shield commemorates these defenders of a key strategic location on Germany's Eastern Front.
With an antiqued silver finished shield, this product is complete with steel backing plate.
