This is a reproduction of the French Legion of Honor Third Republic Grand Officer's breast star in gold. It is France’s second highest award for military and civil merit. It was awarded to the rank of Grand Officer between 1870 - 1940 and should be worn on the right breast.
The star comes with a pin and and catch device for attachment and two pointed pins for mounting.
