Gau Danzig Commemorative Badge

These commemorative badges were political awards issued under the Nazi party, given by Gauleiters, or regional leaders from the various geopolitical regions of 1930's Germany. This badge denotes recognition from the annexed territory of the Free City of Danzig.

These excellent reproductions feature the coat of arms of the Free City of Danzig, superimposed over the Third Reich swastika. The words 'Alter Kämpfer' (Old Fighter) are written around the badge, referring to the earliest members of hte Nazi Party, joining before the 1930 election. The reverse has a sturdy pin-clip fastening.
