Brunswick War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Frontline Service Clasp
Product Details
Awarded for distinction in war to any class of solider, this cross was first established in 1914 by the Duke of Brunswick. This is the original version of the award, which was renamed as the 2nd Class after a 1st Class was introduced in 1918.
This smart reproduction is a bronze coloured iron cross shape with distinct features on each arm of the cross. On the left and right are oak leaves, while the top arm has the crown of Brunswick, and the lower arm bears the year the order was established. The EA at the centre of the award stands for Ernest Augustus, the Duke of Brunswick, who instituted the award.
Also included is the correct ribbon for military personnel, and the Frontline Service Clasp - indicating two years of combat service - featuring a horse and wreath.
