Grand Cross Order of the Red Eagle with Swords Breast Star

Awarded for valour in combat, long service, and for great military leadership. One of Prussia’s most famous awards, the ‘Roter Adlerorden’ was bestowed on commissioned officers and high ranking officials, both before and during the First World War.

Presented as an 8 pointed Breast Star with crossed sword in gold, with an enamelled centrepiece depicting a red eagle with the words 'Sincere et 'Constanter'. The back of the badge holds a vertical clasp for attachment.
