The Kriegsmarine Destroyer Badge was introduced by Grand Admiral Erich Raeder in 1940, who sought to recognise the role of the Naval Destroyer Crews in WW2. In particular, the Narvik campaign acted as a catalyst for the creation of the award.
These Destroyer Badges are made from a zinc alloy, and are complete with the correct horizontal pin on the reverse.
