Product Details

These wound badges were first awarded to the volunteers from the German Armed Forces known as "Legion Condor" who had been wounded during the Spanish Civil War. The award itself was instituted on the 22nd of May 1939, just a few months after the end of the Civil War. As the dies were readily available, these wound badges are roughly the same as World War 1 badges, with the addition of a swastika on the helmet. Just like the gold classes of the other wound badge variants, this particular class would have been awarded for being wounded five or more times, or was posthumously presented to the deceased's family.
