Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany - Grand Cross 1st Class - Special Issue
Also known as the Verdienstorden der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, or Bundesverdienstorden, abbreviated BVO, the Order of Merit is the only Federal decoration of the Federal Republic of Germany.
This beautiful reproduction is comprised of a gilt cross and is enamelled with a bright red enamel, and a black enamel Bundesadle set on a gilt 6-pointed star. This badge represents the Grand Cross 1st Class of the order, and the Bundesadler at the heart of the badge is surrounded by gilt oakleaves, marking at as a special issue version of the award.
