Order of the German Eagle 2nd Class with Swords

The Order of the German Eagle was one of the highest political awards of the Nazi Party. It was introduced by Hitler himself, and was awarded predominantly to foreign diplomats.

This 2nd Class version was issued between 1939 and 1943 and was actually the fourth highest in it's class, below the 1st Class and two higher classes with 6, and 8, pointed star backings. The addition of swords denote a military recipient.

These awards are made from a zinc alloy, and feature the correct pin on the reverse.
