The highly coveted Heeresbergfuhrer Edelweiss Breast Badge was worn by experienced Army mountain troops who had qualified as mountain guides. Worn on the left breast, these badges are complete with the maker's 'Deschler & Sohn - Munchen' mark on the reverse alongside a brooch pin fixing.
These badges measure 55mm x 45mm and are constructed in two pieces. The metal badge has a silvered bronze finish with green and white enamel. The brass lettering is slightly oxidised, in order to maintain the fine quality of the detailing.
