Product Details

The regiment was initially formed by Charles II around the time of the Restoration in 1659 from groups of Horse Guards, but it wasn't until 1788 that they were reformed as the 1st and 2nd Life Guards. Then finally in 1928 they were merged to form the Life Guards regiment and became part of the Household Cavalry.

Notable conflicts include the Napoleonic Wars, the Egyptian Campaign of 1882, the Second Boer War, and World War One.

This fine reproduction of the regiment badge features an gilt crowned and encircled 'GVR' cypher with 'The Life Guards' inscribed in the perimeter. It has an aged look, and is designed to be pinned to a beret, but does not come with an attachment pin.
