Order of the Red Eagle 1st class with Swords Breast Star

Awarded for valour in combat, long service, and for great military leadership. One of Prussia’s most famous awards, the ‘Roter Adlerorden’ was bestowed on commissioned officers and high ranking officials, both before and during the First World War. This is the 1st class version of this prestigious award

Presented as a 8 pointed Breast Star in silver, with gold crossed swords and an enamelled centrepiece depicting a red eagle with the words 'Sincere et 'Constanter'. The back of the badge holds a vertical clasp for attachment.
