Royal Ulster Rifles Cap Badge
Product Details
The Royal Irish Rifles was an infantry rifle regiment of the British Army, first created in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 83rd (County of Dublin) Regiment of Foot and the 86th (Royal County Down) Regiment of Foot. In 1921 it became the Royal Ulster Rifles. They were deployed all across the world, suppressing rebellions in Canada, and taking part in the French Revolutionary wars in 1793, and the Indian Rebellion. In 1921 it became the Royal Ulster Rifles. Then in 1968 the regiment was amalgamated with several others to create the Royal Irish Ranger, and finally in 1992 with the Ulster Defence Regiment to form The Royal Irish Regiment.
Notable conflicts include the Second Boer War, both World Wars and the Korean War.
This fine reproduction of the regiment badge features an Angel Harp (winged female figure to front), surmounted by an Imperial King's crown, with below a scroll on which 'Quis Seperabit' (Who shall separate us). It has an aged look, and is designed to be pinned to a beret, but does not come with an attachment pin.
