US 11th Air Assault Badge - Black

A US Air Assualt Badge (11th Airborne) - Black.

This badge was awarded by the US Army for the completion of the Air Assault School. The course includes instruction on rotary wing aircrafts, combat operations, rigging and slingloading, and rapelling from a helicopter. 

This pattern was awarded only to the 11th Air Assualt Division during the 1960's before it was inactivated and merged with the 2nd Infantry Division, becoming the 1st Cavalry Division.

It features a winged shield with a lightning bolt and rifle crossed behind it. This fine reprodcution comes in a smart matte black finish.
